Albatross Print Studio
Albatross Print Studio was founded by artist-printmakers Sue Lowe and Sarah Ward and is dedicated to advancing and celebrating fine art printmaking.
The studio is prominently placed on the ground floor of East Quay, opening onto the central courtyard, beside the East Quay Kitchen. The studio aims to operate as a community resource, supporting professional and emerging artists in the area to work in print media as well as introducing printmaking to the community at large. The facilities are set up to support intaglio, relief and silk screen printmaking.
There is a membership scheme offering open access sessions on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and a programme of workshops suitable for beginners and those wanting to refresh their printing practice, please check out their workshop page. There are printmaking exhibitions several times a year.
For Sue and Sarah, Albatross Studio is also a base to explore and develop their own practices and where visitors can see examples of their work.
The studio may be closed to the public on days when there are workshops, or when members have booked time to work on their own projects, but a visit can always be arranged by appointment. You can sign up, via their website, to receive newsletters on upcoming events and workshops.
