INTRODUCTION TO TRADITIONAL CRAFTS
(5-week programme)

Join this hands-on journey into traditional craft and green woodworking techniques. Over five weeks, you'll learn fundamental skills, working with natural materials to create beautiful and functional objects. Whether you're a complete beginner, or looking to expand your craft knowledge, this course will provide a solid foundation in hand tools and making techniques.

Course Schedule:

·      Week 1 – Thursday 1st May
Spoon Carving: Learn to shape green wood with knives and hook tools, creatingyour own unique spoon.

·      Week 2 – Thursday 8th May
Hand Brooms: Discover the art of making brooms using natural fibers andtraditional binding techniques.

·      Week 3 – Thursday 15th May
Wool Spinning: Learn the basics of spinning raw wool into yarn.

·      Week 4 – Thursday 22nd May
Stick Brushes: Explore another traditional brush-making method using sticks andplant fibers.

·      Week 5 – Thursday 29th May
Plant Fibers & Project Finishing:
Learn how to extract and use fibers from plants, and wrap up any unfinished projects.

All tools and materials are provided. No prior experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm!⁠

The workshops are being subsidised by Contains Art, so that we can offer them on a pay what you can/donation basis.
