'Cézanne: The Canvas as Laboratory' - a lecture by Rose Davey

DATE: Thursday 28 November
TIME: 7.30 - 8.30pm
LOCATION: East Quay Kitchen
Tickets cost £5

Paul Cézanne famously declared: “Treat nature in terms of the cylinder, the sphere, and the cone”, but what exactly did he mean?

Join artist and writer Rose Davey as she explores Cézanne’s continual attempts to portray the truth of his vision by painting something much closer to the experience of seeing. Cézanne was determined to faithfully record his perception as his eye moved, focused, paused and passed over the world - an approach which led him to the beginnings of abstraction.

East Quay Kitchen will be serving evening meals before the talk - please reserve a table in advance.
